About

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website

Hello I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an accredited registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, with training in both Person-Centred and Psychodynamic Therapy. In my practice, I use an integrative approach, drawing on these perspectives to support you in exploring deeper patterns that may have developed over time, often rooted in earlier life experiences. This process can help you understand feelings of being ‘stuck’ and support meaningful, lasting change.

With a background in reflexology, I have long been interested in the connection between the body and mind, and how emotional experiences can be held physically in the body. By sharing grounding techniques to help regulate the nervous system and bringing awareness of the mind-body connection, clients are supported to develop the tools to self-regulate, reconnect and stay present in the here and now.

My Approach and Ongoing Learning

My practice continues to evolve through ongoing professional development, specialist training, and a commitment to exploring approaches that support clients in a holistic and meaningful way. I regularly engage in both online and in-person learning to deepen and expand my work as a counsellor.

My professional development has included training and workshops in Suicide Prevention, Self-Harm Awareness, Working Therapeutically with Sand Tray, Disordered and Emotional Eating, Introduction days to Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy and Animal-Assisted Therapy, and an Integrative Mind-Body Approach to Trauma and Complex PTSD.

My approach is holistic, recognising the connection between mind, body, and environment. This naturally extends to my passion for the outdoors and the therapeutic benefits of connecting with nature. I am currently training to become a Certified Outdoor Therapist, enabling me to bring therapy into natural settings through walk-and-talk sessions and nature-based approaches. For many people, being outdoors can help reduce anxiety, encourage reflection, and create a calmer, more open therapeutic space.

A future area of professional development I am exploring is Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy. Working alongside horses offers a unique experiential approach to exploring emotions, relationships, and patterns of behaviour, which can feel more accessible for some clients than traditional talking therapies alone.

By integrating talking therapy with body awareness, nature-based work, and, in the future, equine-facilitated approaches, I aim to support the whole person in a way that feels grounded, connected, and meaningful.

Alongside my private practice, I volunteer weekly as a Senior Counsellor at The Counselling Partnership, a local community charity, where I support adults experiencing a wide range of challenges.
